A. Piatt Andrew was a Harvard economist and politician who served in the U.S. House of Representatives and as the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury. He was also the founder and director of the Ambulance Field Service during World War I. The A. Piatt Andrew Bridge in Gloucester was named for him.
