The storm had high winds and large amounts of rainfall. Reports of damage included collapsed barns, chimneys toppled, roofs and windows damaged, trees uprooted, roads blocked, and vessels all along the coast driven from their anchors and washed ashore. Even the steeple of Boston’s North church was blown down.
