1969Activist and community leader Lena Novello joined efforts to organize the Gloucester Fishermen’s Wives Association.People and Communities, Local Organizations, Women's History

The group received financial support to go to Washington to give testimony in support of the 200-mile limit legislation. Later, to boost finances, Mrs. Novello suggested to the League of Women Voters that the groups collaborate on a cookbook, which was entitled A Taste of Gloucester: A Fisherman’s Wife Cooks and went to print in 1976.
