An unexpected visit by one of the Tall Ships transpired due to the overcrowding in Boston harbor and a needed rudder repair. The 141-foot Unicorn sailed into the harbor on July 14 and stayed a week at Rose’s wharf. Gloucester’s own tall ship, the schooner Coronet, participated in Operation Sail by powering down to Boston harbor for a send-off, as the visiting vessels started their race back to Plymouth, England.
