Recchia’s style was elegant, figurative, and idealized. In 1913, Pratt invited Recchia to do the piece that started his career, the 1914 bas-relief in marble for the Fenway entrance of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Architecture. Because of Recchia, another important sculptor, Italian immigrant Anthony DeFrancisi (1887-1964) also came to Cape Ann.
