In recalling the sentiments of his father and grandfather, Babson stated to the Gloucester Daily Times that ” the city deserves the best water supply it can have.” He also reflected on the parallel between the abandoned village of Dogtown and the peril of possible abandonment in the community due to the economic distress of the Depression.
