Like Demetrios, Burton had a deep sense of line and how it flowed. Her work became known, and she had a show at the Boston Public Library when she was twenty-one.

George Grafly had willed Demetrios, his former student, lifetime use of his studio. Demetrios taught drawing classes for both amateurs and professionals there. The home he and Burton built became the center of social life in Folly Cove.
