Stephen Parrish was a Philadelphia artist who first came to Gloucester in 1880 after turning to the new art of etching the previous year. Along with other Philadelphia artists like Cecilia Beaux, he stayed with his family at the Fairview Inn in East Gloucester. He produced 28 etchings inspired by his time here.
