1897The City of Gloucester purchased a section of Stage Fort Park.Location and Setting

This park included Fishermen’s Field and would later be used for various events during the tercentenary celebration in 1923. It was acquired by the City of Gloucester as a “permanent memorial of the settlement of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.”
