In June, a group of 33 French fishermen visited Gloucester. Later in the year, the frigate L’Adventure and its 32-person crew arrived in Gloucester, which had seen active duty during World War II. Both visits included a viewing of the Fishermen’s Memorial, tours of General Seafoods and Gorton’s plants, a visit to Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, and laying flowers at the Joan of Arc statue.
