“Ordered that the sum of six hundred ($600) dollars be appropriated in full payment of the Gloucester Tenement Association for all claims or damage arising from the occupancy of their building by the Town of Gloucester. And that the same be charged to the Contingent account” (1875 City Council Document #355, April 12, 1875).
