The house, located on Eastern Point Boulevard, was built for Lucy Taggart of Indianapolis who was an accomplished sculpture artist. She was a friend of Cecilia Beaux, who lived a few houses down. The house was designed by Ralph Adams Cram and the interior was decorated by Henry Davis Sleeper.
