The Selectmen were directed to petition the General Court “praying for liberty to have fish let into the Cape Pond, thro the dams called Bennett’s mill dams” and further, it was voted “that the Selectmen be directed to procure some alewives and to put them into the Cape Pond this spring.” (Town Records, p. 282)
