The community participated in many of its own events for the Bicentennial, including a reenactment of the infamous skirmish with the British in Gloucester when Captain Foster chased a crew of British seamen out to sea, Bunker Hill Day, which included the dedication of the Solomon Jacobs Park, and a large Fourth of July celebration and Horribles Parade.
